What it is
Emsella is a non invasive treatment that strengthens and restores the pelvic floor. You sit comfortably and fully clothed while the device delivers thousands of deep pelvic floor contractions in a single session, which is the equivalent of doing hours of pelvic floor exercises without the effort.
It is the treatment we reach for when the pelvic floor has lost tone, whether after pregnancy, through the menopause or simply over time. A course is recommended, because that is where the change happens.

What happens on the day
Your consultation covers your symptoms, your history and what you have already tried, including whether you have been doing pelvic floor exercises and how they are going. Nothing is booked in before that conversation.
The session lasts 30 minutes. You stay fully clothed and sit on the device while it delivers the contractions. You feel the pelvic floor working, the intensity is built up gradually and it is adjusted throughout, so tell us how it feels.
There is no downtime and you go straight back to your day. Results feel subtle at first and build across a course, which is why Emsella is recommended as a course rather than a single appointment.

Does Emsella hurt?
It is not painful. You feel strong pelvic floor contractions, the intensity is built up gradually and it is adjusted through the session.
Do I need to undress?
No. You stay fully clothed and seated for the whole session, which takes 30 minutes, and you go straight back to your day afterwards.
Can Emsella help with bladder leaks?

What is the Floor to Core programme?
It combines Emsella pelvic floor strengthening with targeted core and abdominal treatments, to rebuild strength from the pelvic floor upwards. It is set out on our signature programmes page.
