What it is
A chemical peel is a solution applied to the skin for a set time, which lifts away the dulled surface layer so that fresher skin comes through. The Obagi Blue Radiance Peel is the peel we use for that at Skinfolk.
It is the treatment we reach for where the skin is dull and tired, the texture is rough and the pores look larger than they should, rather than where the concern is a line or lost volume. It is a short appointment, which is why it is often the first step in a longer plan.

What happens on the day
Your consultation covers what you want to change, what your skin has had before, what you already use at home and your medical history, and whether the peel on its own or inside a longer facial is the better plan.
The skin is cleansed, the peel solution is applied and left on for the time chosen for your skin, then removed. The appointment is 30 minutes.
The skin can feel tight and look a little flushed at first, and the brightness the peel is chosen for comes through over the days that follow. Whether to repeat it, and how often, is agreed with you rather than booked in advance.

A peel works on the surface of the skin, lifting away the dulled layer so that fresher skin comes through. Microneedling works underneath it, making controlled channels so the skin lays down collagen as it repairs. The two answer different problems and are sometimes planned together.
