What it is
Profhilo is made of hyaluronic acid, the substance your skin uses to hold water, in a blend of two types that the manufacturer calls NAHYCO. It is placed at a small number of points and spreads evenly under the skin, so it hydrates a whole area rather than filling one line. It works on the collagen and elastin that we all make less of after 25, which is why the lift it gives is subtle and looks like your own skin.
Profhilo Structura is its partner for deeper work. It is placed in the fat layer at the sides of the face, where it is used to restore support to tissue that has lost volume and firmness. Both are injected by Dr Chloë or her sister Dr Eloise, and which of the two you need, or whether you need both, is decided at consultation.

When it is not the answer

- Laxity along the jaw and neck that needs lifting, where HIFU does the work and Profhilo can be added
- Significant loose skin, where a surgical opinion is what we will recommend

What happens on the day
Your consultation covers what you want to change, what your skin has had before and your medical history, and whether Profhilo, Profhilo Structura or a combination with another treatment is the better plan.
Profhilo is placed with a small number of injections on each side of the face, or across the neck or the backs of the hands, in a 30 minute appointment, and it spreads out under the skin from there. Profhilo Structura is placed deeper at the sides of the face and the appointment is 45 minutes.
Because Profhilo works through your skin's own collagen, the change builds over the weeks that follow rather than showing on the day. It is usually given as two treatments about four weeks apart, which is why our Entry Glow and Signature Reset packages include Profhilo twice. When to come back after that is agreed at consultation.

What does Profhilo do?
