What it is
Microneedling is a collagen treatment. A handheld device passes fine needles into the skin at a set depth, making small controlled channels. The skin repairs them, and collagen is laid down as it does, which is where the change in texture and strength comes from.
It is the treatment we reach for where the concern is texture, fine lines and skin that has lost its strength rather than its volume. It works across a course rather than in one appointment, and because those channels also carry what we put on the skin, it is the route we use to deliver polynucleotides and exosomes. That is why it appears inside several of the facials on our list as well as on its own.

What happens on the day
Your consultation covers what you want to change, what your skin has had before and your medical history, and whether microneedling on its own or inside one of our facials is the better plan.
The skin is cleansed and prepared, then the device is passed over the area with the needle depth set for the skin being treated. A single session is 30 minutes. Where it is part of a facial it sits inside a longer appointment alongside the rest of that treatment.
Afterwards the skin is pink and feels warm, and that settles over a day or two. Collagen is laid down over the weeks that follow rather than overnight, which is why it is planned as a course and why when to come back is agreed with you.

How many sessions will I need?
That is agreed at your consultation. Microneedling is planned as a course because collagen is built across sessions rather than after one appointment.
Is there any downtime?
The skin is pink and feels warm afterwards and settles over a day or two. It is not a treatment to book in the few days before an event, and we will say so if the timing is tight.
What is the difference between microneedling and Morpheus 8?
Microneedling works with the needles alone. Morpheus 8 in Droitwich sends radiofrequency energy through those needles into the deeper layer, which is why it is the one we reach for on scarring and on firmness rather than on surface texture.
Is the Salmon Sperm Facial microneedling?
Yes. It is precision microneedling with an infusion of PDRN, a polynucleotide, and it is £150 for 30 minutes on our list. The needling is how the infusion reaches the skin.
