What happens on the day
Every journey begins with a consultation, where time is taken to understand your lifestyle, goals and concerns before any plan is made. Once the plan is agreed, the treatment area is cleansed and mapped, and the Ultraformer handpiece is passed over the skin in lines.
You feel heat and a deep prickling sensation as the energy is delivered. It is short lived and it means the treatment is reaching the right depth. Lower jaw and neck takes 45 minutes.
You go straight back to your day afterwards. Skin can look a little pink and feel tender for a day or two. The lift builds over the following weeks as new collagen forms, so the result you see at twelve weeks is not the result you see on the day.

How much does HIFU cost at Skinfolk?
Lower jaw and neck HIFU is £300 for 45 minutes. HIFU fat reduction is £300 to £350 for 60 minutes, and HIFU with radio-frequency is £590 for 90 minutes. Combination treatments run from £370 to £679. Every price is listed on our treatment pricing page.
Is there any downtime?
No. HIFU is non-invasive and you can return to your day straight after. Skin can look flushed and feel tender for a day or two.
When will I see results?
Results develop over time rather than appearing at once, because the treatment works by stimulating your own collagen. The change builds over the weeks following your appointment.
Does HIFU hurt?
You feel heat and a deep prickling sensation while the energy is delivered. Most people find it very manageable, and it stops the moment the handpiece lifts.
How is HIFU different from Morpheus8?
HIFU uses focused ultrasound to lift and tighten at depth without breaking the surface. Morpheus8 combines microneedling with radiofrequency and works on texture and collagen closer to the surface. They are often used together, and both are on our facials and skin treatments page.
Can I combine HIFU with other treatments?
